עכביש הטווס הוא מין של עכבישים החיים באוסטרליה, וגודלם כגודל גרגיר אורז. הם נקראים כך בגלל הצבעים העזים המאפיינים את הזכרים.
כאשר עכביש הטווס רוצה להרשים את הנקבה, הוא פוצח בריקוד חיזור. אם הנקבה לא אוהבת את הריקוד...היא הורגת אותו על ידי הזרקת רעל ואוכלת אותו.
